August 8 and 9 - Interesting Sights on the Building Site

A Full Height Wall -

In one corner of the building the wall has reached full height. Now it is just a little matter of getting the rest of the walls up there and pouring in the concrete. It may have helped that this part of the building has no windows. Walls seem to go faster where there are no openings to work around.

Giant White Board -

The white foam blocks serve a need I had not previously considered. Communication during construction.

With this convenience available I can see this capability being further exploited with additional messages like 'Stop for milk on the way home' or 'Dad, I am using the car tonight' or other such messages. The obvious weakness in this method is this white board is not easily erased so the message space is finite. There is more space being added daily, however.

BJ on Ladders -

I am impressed with Brian's skill with a ladder. He manages to work them into small spaces and then contort himself to climb into operating position.
He continues to add beams until
a wooden cocoon is fully formed

The last act is to extract himself from the maze. I marveled at his agility and balance.

Later I had a chance to watch his workout routine. Impressive.

Notice that this is all done without the benefit of a wall.
